Tra-ta-ta-ta, ta-ta, ta-ta-ta, ta-ta, … always in 3-beat and 2-beat … Everything in play, in fight, in love of the moving bodies.
SOMATIC TRATATA is a contemporary performative ritual, dance concert of two bodies exploring the state of being in motion through voice, breath, movement and affect. An unusual encounter that embraces the diversity and limits of physical expression by questioning couple stereotypes/archetypes in the context of tradition and popular culture (Southern Italian and Alpine). Inspired by trance traditions such as Southern Italian Tarantism and self-induced cognitive trance, the duo stays in touch with the unseen, revealing the space between you and me while diving into the unknown where identities no longer exist. A wild and humorous ride of two bodies testing their limits as they try to communicate with each other.
A moving, humorous treatise on the body, rhythm, movement and being human. Performed with a wonderful presence on stage that makes the couple’s story tangible and authentic.

Simon Mayer, born 1984 in Austria, is a choreographer, musician and performer. After studying at the ballet school of the Vienna State Opera and at the P.A.R.T.S. in Brussels, he was involved in productions by Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker/Rosas (The Song) and Zita Swoon, among others. His repertoire includes solos, duets, group pieces as well as socially engaged and immersive events, and his pieces are performed internationally.
Hannah Shakti Bühler studied contemporary dance at Laban Trinity College in London until 2006, her performance practice led her to the Retina Dance Co. in the UK and the T.r.a.s.h. DansPerformanceGroup in Holland, among others. In 2015, she completed the MACoDE at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt am Main, where she has been teaching since September 2016 with a focus on transfers between somatic practices and contemporary dance.

SOMATIC TRATATA ist ein zeitgenössisches performatives Ritual, Tanzkonzert zweier Körper, die durch Stimme, Atem, Bewegung und Affekt den Zustand des Bewegt-Seins erkunden. Eine ungewöhnliche Begegnung, die die Vielfalt und die Grenzen des körperlichen Ausdrucks umarmt, indem sie Paar-Stereotypen/-Archetypen im Kontext von Tradition und Volkskultur (süditalienisch und alpin) in Frage stellt. Inspiriert von Trance-Traditionen wie dem süditalienischen Tarantismus und der selbstinduzierten kognitiven Trance, bleibt das Duo in Kontakt mit dem Unsichtbaren und enthüllt den Raum zwischen Dir und Mir, während es ins Unbekanntes eintaucht, in dem Identitäten nicht mehr existieren. Ein wilder und humorvoller Ritt zweier Körper, die ihre Grenzen austesten, während sie versuchen, miteinander zu kommunizieren.
Eine bewegende, humorvolle Abhandlung über den Körper, Rhythmus, Bewegung, das Menschsein. Vorgetragen mit einer wunderbaren Präsenz auf der Bühne, die die Geschichte des Paares fassbar und authentisch macht.

Simon Mayer, geb. 1984 in Österreich, ist Choreograph, Musiker und Performer. Nach dem Studium an der Ballettschule der Wiener Staatsoper und am P.A.R.T.S. in Brüssel war er u.a. an Produktionen von Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker/Rosas (The Song) und Zita Swoon beteiligt. Sein Repertoire umfasst Solos, Duette, Gruppenstücke sowie sozial engagierte und immersive Veranstaltungen, seine Stücke werden international aufgeführt.
Hannah Shakti Bühler studierte bis 2006 zeitgenössischen Tanz am Laban Trinity College in London, ihre Performance-Praxis führte sie u.a. zur Retina Dance Co. in Großbritannien, und zur T.r.a.s.h. DansPerformanceGroup in Holland. 2015 absolvierte sie den MACoDE an der Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt am Main, wo sie seit September 2016 eine Lehrtätigkeit mit einem Schwerpunkt auf Transfers zwischen somatischen Praktiken und zeitgenössischem Tanz inne hat.
